PUBLIC NOTICE
NOTICE OF LOCATION AND DESIGN APPROVAL
P. I. 0020260 CRISP COUNTY
Notice is hereby given in compliance with Georgia Code 22-2-109 and 32-3-5 that the Georgia Department of Transportation has approved the Location and Design of this project.
The date of location and design approval is: 07/09/2026
The existing bridge (Serial No. 081-5006-0) located on County Road (CR) 36/Booth Road at N. Branch Swift Creek in Crisp County and constructed in 1949, is being replaced under the project PI 0020260. Due to the current condition of the existing bridge - decay in substructure timber bents, super beams and caps pitting and showing corrosion, replacement is necessary. The project is located about 5.3 miles Southwest of the unincorporated community of Wenona, lies between land lot number 84 and 85; falls within land district number 14 and GMD 945. The length of the project is approximately 0.2 miles. The proposed project consists of constructing a one-span, 55-foot-long by 30-foot-wide bridge over N. Branch Swift Creek along the proposed centerline. The new bridge would have two 10-foot lanes (one in each direction) with 3-foot 4.5 inches paved shoulders. The approach roadway would consist of two 10-foot travel lanes (one in each direction) with 2-foot paved outside shoulders with 4-foot overall shoulders.
An off-site detour will be utilized during the construction. Construction will last for approximately 12 months.
Georgia Dept. of Transportation would be responsible for acquiring property rights for this project.
