NOTICE OF DETOUR APPROVAL

Notice is hereby given that the Georgia Department of Transportation has approved the use of and the routing of a detour for this project.
The date of detour approval is: April 29, 2026
The proposed project is located along Booth Rd, approximately 5.3 miles Southwest of the unincorporated community of Wenona. This project proposes replacing the bridge over N Branch Swift Creek.
The proposed bridge will be two 10-foot lanes with 3.375-foot paved shoulders. The approach roadways would consist of two 10-foot travel lanes with 4-foot (2-foot paved) wide shoulders. The estimated construction time will be 18 months.
The proposed offsite detour will begin at the intersection of Antioch Rd. and Booth Rd. and follow Pateville Rd. to Booth Rd. The proposed detour length is approximately 2 miles. The normal travel distance along Booth Rd. is approximately 1.4 miles, resulting in a net detour increase of approximately 0.5 miles. The detour will be signed during construction.
